With over 32 miles of bay shoreline and an historic petrochemical industry, Richmond is one of the most vulnerable cities to climate change in California. As a Severely Disadvantaged Community within Richmond, the Iron Triangle neighborhood is even more at risk. In response, the City of Richmond has asked EFCWest to explore the potential for microgrid installations in the Iron Triangle and other stressed neighborhoods.
EFCWest is researching seven different installations throughout the US, from which Richmond will choose a preferred option.
